HACKNEY WEEKEND!!

Hackney weekend was on the weekend of 23rd and 24th June. I went on Sunday purely for the line up because JESSIE J was performing!!

The whole event was utterly amazing and for £2.50 only, it wasn't bad!! Definitely would want to go to Radio 1 weekend next year!!

Catching up are Good Times

Since coming home from university, I haven't actually met up with my friends. Infact I've only left my beloved house once. Work and job hunting have got the best of me.

However I went round to my best friends house yesterday and jammed and caught up with each others lives. She just recently came back from Canada so her life was much more interesting than mine!! I told her I was considering in going to Canada in September when she immigrates over to Canada permanently and we started chatting about the things we could get up to. Ahhh I really hope I can go and money is not an issue that permits me. I would absolutely love love love to go Canada and be able to spend some quality time with my best friend before I have to say bye for a very long time :'(

So our catching up always consists of watching YouTube videos and playing games and laughing about absolutely nothing, like the good old times. Sleeping by 3am failed miserably as we started playing games on our iPhones and went on instagram.

Sorry for rambling on. Happy Easter to you all as well. Sadly I didn't have chocolate to eat before I left them in university. Did anyone receive some yummy eggs??

Fashion: Happy Socks

This was the topic for yesterday's blog, however I was too carried away with my tv show catchups and cover letter writing that I forgot to blog.

So back in Christmas I received some socks. They were called Happy Socks. I had no clue why they were so special and surely had no clue why they were called Happy Socks. I was just excited they looked pretty cool!

However on my return home from university I opened the untouched packaging and slipped on the socks. And as you might have gathered from the lead up of the story till now, they were comfyyyyy!! Alright I have to admit, they seemed like normal socks which were individually packaged and I instantly had the impression they were branded expensive socks, they're still socks at the end of the day. Read a few reviews and they seemed rather overhyped. But maybe I judged it wrong, to be honest I don't know if they're expensive, maybe a bit more than your average primark pairs but the comfort is just so soft!!

For me I hate putting on a pair of socks that are rigid and stiff from the wash. So when I slipped these on, they were like a gift from heaven. I absolutely love wearing cool socks, even though it's covered by shoes most the time, don't you just love it when someone compliments you about your socks? I surely live for that haha.

Right, I have two pairs of these Happy Socks but I've left one pair at university. So here goes the legendary socks, they even have their name written on the sole of the socks:

Easter Egg Hunt

I met up with one of my close friends in Central London today.  I can't recall when the last time it was when I chilled in London, since it's always so hectic! 

As per usual, I found myself running late.  But whilst walking to the train station, along my local park I saw two beautiful ponies.

We caught lunch at Vapiano near Oxford Street and stuffed our faces before we trekked across to Covent Garden.  We went down Carnaby Street where I was ever so tempted to enter the shops and SPENDD!! But alas, my bank account is slowly deteriorating.

At Covent Garden there were lots of eggs!  Sadly they were not edible.  To be honest it wasn't exactly an egg hunt, since all the eggs were placed in one area.  But it was a perfect picture opportunity to capture the beauty of Covent Garden and the artists' work on the eggs.

 

The Big Easter Egg Hunt in London attracted many tourists and children who are on their Easter break.  There's always something going on in London and this is what I have missed about London; the culture, spontaneous life and full of adventures!  Going to University has made me more appreciative of the home town I grew up in, London.

So now i'm back home.  Instead of attempting some work or applying for internships, I am watching The Apprentice (as you do).  Should.Really.Start.Work.Soon. But it's only my third day of the holidays!! Haii =_=

A New Beginning

Since 2009, the opening of this blog, today is the third time I am attempting to keep this blog updated and alive.

I will keep this blog active to blog about my thoughts and life. It is my mission to blog about the good things in life, however accepting that life is not at all always perfect.

This is my journey.

Kicking off my first post with the sunset on the downs at my university.

Ambition

A year on from my last interview. It's all happening again but this time I am fighting for a place. I want this opportunity so much that I don't think I have wanted anything in life more than this.

Believe in yourself and in what you do because this is where success comes.

On Different Sides of the World

Is it not strange when you're talking to someone across the other side of the world? It's strange to think of the huge time difference and how we are experiencing different lifestyles just because we are on different sides of the world.

I am not expressing this in terms of a relationship but the care I share for my friends across the globe. Don't fret because even though we are on different sides of the world, you're always in my heart. :)

I was confused as hell when watching this movie but it caught my attention. I kept questioning myself and as confusing it was the effects were brilliant! I watched it twice and was definately worth it!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

I absolutely ADORE this film! I have watched it at least 4 times and it never bores me. I love the clothes, the humour and the character itself. The love story is so sweet too! Ahh I love romcoms!

look for something you never find it but then it magically appears again.

Feeling absolutely meh after my second exam. I know it is petty to feel awful after an exam because it has happened but I cant control my feelings. Just want to snuggle under a blanket and escape from the real world. I hate exams.

Food Cravings

Saw this picture on an msn news article and I am absolutely craving for this now, at 3:12am at night. YES! I want to be fat with my midnight snacks.

I just want a hearty meal which makes me feel satisfied.

I miss home food. I hate revision. I hate being a student!

Day 3: 30 Day Challenge

Day 3: Your First Love

I have never been in love nor had a boyfriend before. So it pretty deprives the point of this post but I won't end it there. Hopefully you can get to know me more.

It has never bothered me that I haven't had a boyfriend before. I have been asked out by a few people so I at least know there isn't anything wrong with me LOL. I guess I am a person for serious relationships. In my mind if I am to be in a relationship I would look for someone who I can see myself last with and not get bored. I get bored pretty easily and the thought of being around the same ONE person all the time would bore me. I know everyone is different and maybe I am only saying this because I havent been in a relationship but I don't see the point in saying yes to someone if I don't see myself liking them long term.

I am a picky person but I believe good things come to those who wait. There's no rush. Besides I have uni work and my future life to keep me occupied with.

I actually love my single life because im living life with no limits at the moment and I love the freedom. Being around friends and family who I dearly love is enough for me right now :)

Day 2: Meaning behind your blog name

Well I don't think there is much significance to my blog name - The stories beneath the Sand.

I guess when I came up with the name I wanted it to be meaningful and personify my blog. I aim for my blog to gather my daily life whether it is happy or sad. A blog to illustrate my thoughts and interests for others to read. Yet at the same time building up stories with inner and deeper thoughts which shape the person I am.

However I am never fully satisfied and with my lack of english vocabulary I have already thought about changing my blog name. This will not commence till after May and whether I have grown attached to the name.

As you can see I am pretty indecisive.
